God commits himself: grace for the world – grace for me too
Many things are unsettling and unsettling. A toxic "K-mixture" is occurring globally and regionally: crises and conflicts, diseases and disasters, fighting and war, corruption and cold-bloodedness. It is presented to us daily via multimedia.
And then there is our private life with its ups and downs, joys and sorrows, successes and failures. Are we mercilessly at the mercy of an arbitrary fate?
The Bible knows all the absurd and paradoxical things in our world. It tells us about it without embellishment. But it also lets God have his say and tells us that we are at the mercy of his grace, i.e. his care, reconciliation and mercy, free of charge.
It should be remembered: Time and again, this announcement has changed the world. The merciless business of fear comes to a standstill. Because God is kind, we no longer have to earn the happiness of God's grace ourselves. What good news!
That is why there are many "people of good will" who stand up for peace, justice, mercy and reconciliation against all merciless powers. They follow the nature of God, who offers his gracious care, from biblical times until today.
We want to take a closer look at this offer using biblical texts in which grace impressively shines through as a key word of faith, freedom, hope and peace.
