Talking to the God who hears – listening to the God who speaks?
We talk to God, sometimes more, sometimes less, but mostly we talk to HIM more than we listen. Prayer and intercession - talking; worship and praise - talking; lamentation - talking. Perhaps you are like many Christians who long to hear God (more). This week we want to explore this together and discover how we can hear him. Because God speaks! We just don't always hear it. Perhaps because we have a fixed expectation of how he should speak. But God rarely sticks to our expectations, instead he likes to surprise us!
Perhaps like Elijah on Mount Horeb. After a dry spell, after a time of depression, Elijah hears God "...in a sound of silence" 1 Kings 19:12 Listening to God, listening to HIM - listening to how He whispers softly. Listening to the silence, the calm, the peace, the shalom in the midst of chaos, in the midst of the confusion of our time.
In the morning there is a short input into the day. In the evening, short inputs and practical instructions on how we can shape our listening and speaking with God.
Side effect - Listening to God can change your life forever!
