Hegglin Brigitte

Brigitte Hegglin was torn from her life as a mother and spouse by a brain tumor. She had to learn everything all over again, including her job. Handball and sport were also a thing of the past. But she fought her way back, took up work in palliative care and wrote about her experiences of doubts, wanting to give up, hopes, support and trust in God in a highly acclaimed book. Brigitte is married to Stephan and together they are the parents of two grown-up daughters (19 and 22). The incomprehensibility of a brain tumor shook her to the core. Gone were her sporting activities, handball, health and much of what she knew and had learned, but also her harmonious family life. Learning everything from scratch, being able to accept support. It was a long and difficult journey, but today Brigitte is once again full of gratitude and confidence. Trust in God, the support of her family and her environment were the pillars on this path. She learned a new profession, which she is unable to pursue due to health problems, and turned to palliative care - in order to use her own experience to help people in similar need. Brigitte is a trained KV graduate, turned to nursing and pallaitive care after an invasive operation, is a specialist teacher and accompanying pastor in her church EMK. She finds variety in acrylic painting and as an author. Her health story was recorded in the TV program Fenster zum Sonntag (Window to Sunday) under the aspect of strength that comes from faith. Her first book, which traces the time of loss and the return to a completely new everyday life, is sold out - but Brigitte wouldn't be Brigitte if she wasn't recording her younger years with their "new peculiarities" in a new work!
