Less attention is paid to the Christian faith. It is unthinkable and no longer acceptable to modern man, most of whom have emancipated themselves from all religious paternalism. Is the Christian faith really unthinkable, restrictive and hostile to life? Christians in churches and congregations are also asking themselves: "Is it still possible to take the Bible so authoritatively "at its word" for modern life? This week we want to discuss this and question the Bible itself: does it say anything about whether and how faith, trust, thinking, questioning, doubting, knowing, deciding, acting and lifestyle have anything to do with each other? Can the "ancient word of God" even offer a salutary perspective and real orientation today? To this end, we read texts from the OT and NT in the context of these questions, incidentally following an experience of Martin Luther: "That's the way it is with the Holy Scriptures: If you think you have learned them, you have yet to begin!"
