Insights from development cooperation – God helps – here and there
The story of God Helps Uganda (GHU) began more than 25 years ago. During our theme week, we will get to know Uganda with its beauty, cultural peculiarities and current challenges. We will follow the exciting traces of the work's development and be inspired by the stories of hope that are written in GHU. We will also address the following questions: What are the roots of development cooperation? What motivated the GHU founders to take this far-reaching step? What do experiences from development cooperation have to say to us here and now?
In the morning there is a word for the day (approx. 15 minutes). A time slot of approx. 1 hour is scheduled for the weekly topic in the evening. In addition, a workshop on the topic "when helping hurts" is offered one afternoon. This deals with the question of how poverty can be alleviated without hurting the poor (and oneself).
